ImmBio is located on the Babraham Research Campus, home of the Babraham Institute, south west of Cambridge City Centre and close to the world-class Addenbrookes Hospital. The Institute is a unit of the UK’s Biomedical & Biosciences Research Council (BBSRC), undertaking research and postgraduate education. The campus also has a thriving biotechnology community as part of the wider biotechnology cluster centred around Cambridge, enabling considerable cross-fertilization of ideas, capabilities and facilities. ImmBio is governed by a Board of Directors, comprising of an independent chairman, two directors drawn from investors and an independent director (all of whom are non-Executive) plus the CEO. The Executive comprises the Founder & CSO, the CEO and the Development Director. ImmBio runs its own labs in two key areas – cell culture and protein chemistry, as well as utilise local facilities, such as those of the Babraham Institute and the mass spectroscopy facilities at the University of Cambridge. However, the majority of the activities are outsourced, primarily to commercial organisations. ImmBio employs professional development project management. While the company progresses its development portfolio and initiates new developments, to better understand the science underpinning the technology and undertake research which will feed through to further breakthrough developments, collaborations with leading research centres are in place.
