ImmBioApplying the science of ImmunoBiology to Healthcare

Current Relationships

Early proof of principle work has been conducted in collaboration with the Elizabeth Macarthur Institute, New South Wales, Australia.

The Meningitis programme is undertaken with support from the Meningitis Research Group, School of Medical Sciences, University of Bristol and ImmBio has entered into a co-development partnership with the Health Protection Agency.

ImmBio has entered into a research, development and end-product licensing arrangement with The Aeras Global TB Foundation.  It has extensive resources in Rockville, US and is supported by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  Aeras facilities includes cGMP fermentation capacity. ImmBio has worked with the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control and also supports a TB programme at the University of Surrey.

The influenza programme involves a number of collaborations and technical advisors, including the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge and the School of Microbiological Sciences at the University of Reading. Process development work is managed by Eden BioDesign at the National Biomanufacturing Centre, Speke. Ex vivo human studies have been conducted in association with a specialist research unit.

The Hepatitis work, including ex vivo patient studies, is conducted in association with the Institute of Cell & Molecular Science, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, The Royal London Hospital.

ImmBio is working with University College London Department of Biochemical Engineering, deploying its Ultra Scale Down (USD) technology in process design, enabling small scale design to be utilised in predicting performance and design translation to large manufacturing volumes.

ImmBio has entered into a non-disclosable research agreement with a major vaccine company, studying a vaccine target of mutual interest.

Given the importance of manufacturing and regulatory aspects to biological, ImmBio and its collaborators are recipients of a variety of grants and awards, including:

  • The Medical Research Council (MRC)
  • The Biosciences & Biotechnology Research Council (BBSRC)
  • The Technology Strategy Board (TSB)
  • The Environment and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC)
  • The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
