Dr Chris Bailey has been appointed Development Director of ImmunoBiology Ltd.
Chris has extensive product development experience, including dealing with scientific and regulatory issues that arise in manufacturing, pre-clinical and clinical areas of viral vaccines. His experience includes the successful pan-European approval of Hepacare, a novel Hepatitis B vaccine, developed by Medeva. This was the first recombinant vaccine product, manufactured in mammalian cells to be approved by the European Medicines Evaluation Agency (EMEA).
Chris has a BSc (1st Class Honours) in Biochemistry, University of Aberdeen and a PhD, from the Department of Genetics, University of Cambridge.
At Medeva, Chris held a number of development posts, including:
§ Director of Pre-clinical Sciences
§ Director of Pre-clinical Development and New Drug Management
§ Head of Pre-clinical Development Department
§ Head of Pre-clinical Studies for the Hepatitis B Project
§ Project Manager
He assisted in the integration of Medeva with Celltech Chiroscience Development.
Prior to Medeva, Chris was a Project Manager with Celltech Ltd, as well as Head of Genetics Department at Apcel Ltd, a Celltech Joint Venture Company
Chris was initially employed as a Senior Research Scientist with Beecham Pharmaceuticals. |
